Chasing Rainbows

God’s covenant. A map for a pot of gold. A symbol of equity. A sign of relief after the storm. An optical phenomenon when sunlight atmospheric conditions are just right. A gift from God. A sign of healing. God’s bow to kill demon spirits. However you chose to believe, a rainbow seems to be an universal sign of some sort of good omen.

I placed a beautiful big crystal on my bedroom window to catch the morning sun that reflected dozens of tiny, bright rainbows in my bedroom that created countless memories of my toddler tying to catch them in her little hands with a big grim on her face, believing that the rainbows around us were a product of pure magic. And most certainly, magic was what they created.

A new year always feels like a fresh start, something new, something to look forward to, but I must admit that I’m not the kind of person who makes new year resolutions. I don’t believe in some sort of instant switch, radical changes. I see the road ahead and keep in mind the path that lead me where I stand now and try to remain cautiously optimistic about what the future holds. No magical turns there, just hard work and determination. Miracles lie on all little things, which we are not able to see how important they are until much later. Yes, I do too believe in luck. But it won’t magically appear unless we strive to seek that rainbow hiding behind every raindrop and place our crystals on the window, welcoming them into our homes and hearts. To a fresh, bright and miraculous 2021.

Peace.
